Unlike many language learning websites, English-Online has no “bells and whistles” and focuses on one skill: reading. More like a magazine than a website, the home page contains one simple table of contents where articles are grouped by subjects, such as hobbies, technology, or travel. The latest articles cover modern stories in the news, including: “The World’s most Dangerous Countries”, ”Facebook celebrates 5th Birthday,” and “The End of Printed Newspapers.” Challenging vocabulary is highlighted and defined below each reading. Teachers and students who enjoy the readings can subscribe to the site’s feed.
