Just the Word is a tool that can help you choose the right words and phrases in English. It can also help you correct your writing mistakes. It is a combination of dictionary and thesaurus, and is very useful for learning collocations. Collocations are pairings or groups of words that are commonly found together. To test out Just the Word, go to the search box on the home page and type in a word such as “life”. Then hit Return on your keyboard. Look through the results that come up. The audio files also have transcripts so that you can read along as you listen. Many of the speakers in the recordings speak slower than natural English speakers, so the recordings are ideal for beginners and low-level learners.
