Join a Writing Group

Do you want to practise your writing in a fun and friendly place? EnglishClub.com has a writing group that tackles fun challenges every month. To join the writing group you need to be a member of MyEC. If you are not a member yet, sign up here. (It’s free!) Within minutes of joining you will have your own web space, including a spot to upload and share your favourite photos, videos, and music. Your MyEC page also has a place for you to write your own blog.

To join the writing group, simply add me as a friend. You’ll have to visit my page each month to find the latest writing challenge. Some of us have been writing together since January, 2009, but we have newcomers each month. You are welcome to go back to previous challenges that interest you. I try to keep the challenges open, though most of the action takes place on the latest challenge.

You can make new friends easily by adding some of the other MyEC writers from the group to your friend list. Read through some of the old challenges to see which writers contribute regularly. When you make a friend request, add a short note, such as: “I noticed that you take part in the monthly Writing Challenge group. I look forward to writing with you in the next challenge.”

Our writing group is open to writers of all levels. Each month I create a new writing challenge for the group. This month we are working on Writing Challenge #11: A day in the Life. The writers are creating pages out of the diary of someone or something other than themselves. So far writers have written a day in the life of a goldfish, a president, a pillow, and more. I’m still waiting for someone to write a day in the life of a peacock. Will you accept the challenge?
