Spain Wins 2012 Euro Cup

Spain beat Italy in the Euro 2012 football finals this Sunday at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev. The defending champions were up 2-0 by , and dominated throughout the game. Italy struggled to and eventually lost all of its substitute players. This was the third major victory for Spain, after winning Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup. Prior to these wins, it had been over 40 years since Spain had enjoyed a major victory. Spain striker Fernando Torres won the award after scoring three goals in this year’s tournament.
