3D Printed Gun Tested in US
A gun made almost exclusively from 3D printed parts has been tested at a firing range in the US. The working gun was made from printed plastic components, and was designed by a controversial gun activist group. The group that created the firearm said that it will make the blueprints available online. In the US it is not against the law to manufacture a firearm for one’s own use. A 3D printer currently costs about $2000. In the future, 3D printers will become cheaper, and consumers will be able to find the designs to manufacture a wide variety of items in their own homes. 3D technology has also been used by criminals to create card readers that are placed in bank machines.
