Writing Prompt ~ In Sympathy

Writing Prompt: Writing a sympathy note is tough. Writing one in a language that is not your first language is even more difficult. You may think you don’t have the right words, but if you’ve ever lost someone close to you, you know that a few words is better than no words. Review some useful language for expressing condolences in English. Then write an example letter to a friend who has lost a family member. Keep it short and simple.
Example
I was very sorry to hear about the loss of your uncle. I know he was precious to you. He always made me laugh when I saw him at your house. I’ll miss seeing his big smile at the annual golf tournament. Your uncle loved you very much. I’m sure you were his favourite nephew. Please accept my sincere condolences.
